Once again, Christmas and come and gone faster than a foot of snow under Chinook Wind. Usually this season means activity – the overwhelming rush to get everything done – the presents wrapped, the little bit of cooking I do, and the anticipation of fun-fill visits with family that somehow never quite live up to the idyllic Christmas of years ago. But this year was different. Unfortunately Mackenzie had surgery on Wednesday, so is no shape to do much else beside sit on the couch and play X-Box (what, isn’t that what he usually does? (LOL).
His surgery gave us the reason to drop out – to stay tucked cozily in our house rather than rush around to neighbours and family. And, much to my surprise, I am very relieved. I am very hope to tone down the hype. Ah, a Christmas to relax, watch TV, play some games, and reflect on Christmases past. It is indeed a wonderful life!
